Traffic Etiquette

What is hard for me to get used of is that the drivers in Finland are giving the priority to pedestrians when they Cross the road. No matter when and where, the driver always let you go first. Additionally, Finnish people highly follow the traffic light. I hardly see someone cross the street when it turns red.

However, when it comes to the traffic etiquette in China, it is much different, or shameful to say, worse. Ignoring traffic light happens at every crossroad. It is usual to see someone cross the road when the light is still red. Personally I have no idea why they risk life only for saving half minute from waiting. As to prospective of driver, they scramble with each other on the road, and they never remember to give concession to pedestrians.
